About Sandy

Sandy Velasco is an LA-based artist. After receiving her degree in Mathematics from UCLA, Sandy went against all that is logical and started to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. 

Sandy has been performing comedy in film and on stage for over 10 years and performs stand up comedy all over Southern California in places like Hollywood Improv, Comedy Store, MicDrop San Diego and Ice House Comedy Club. She's been an improviser and a sketch comedy actor with Improvcity and the famous Upright Citizens Brigade. She curates and produces a comedy variety show, MIXED NUTS LIVE! and a standup comedy show, CHEERS COMEDY HOUR.

One of her proudest artistic accomplishments was creating and starring in the award-winning comedy web series, "Miss Guidance" that has screened in numerous film festivals in Canada and cities across the US. Her performance garnered her a nomination for OUTSTANDING LEAD ACTRESS in a comedy.

Besides her tv/film work, she’s been blessed to be a part of a thriving LA theatre community, working with companies like, Coeurage Theatre Company, Artists At Play, Playwrights' Arena, East West Players and Company of Angels.
